Description
This isn't Disney's "Jungle Book" - this is Rudyard Kipling's. I read the book avidly as a kid, and dreamed of living with wolves, bears and panthers as my brothers. As an adult, I can see the latent class struggles within the pages of Kipling's jungle opus, and even feel a tad bit sorry for Shere Khan (he was born lame, after all, which made him a man-eater), but the fascination still endures, so I decided to create this tribute. By the way, you might notice that Mowgli looks older in this picture than he does in the various "Jungle Book" movies. That's because in Kipling's book, he's a teenager before he finally leaves the jungle to join the family of man.

JL Meadows Appreciate the explanation that it was not a Disney creation but the great Kipling who devised the character in his novel THE JUNGLE BOOK(S) which I have only shelf and also read as a 7 yr. old... FANTASTIC PAINTINGS and have a great CHRISTMAS/HOLIDAY SEASON! l/f
